Bulletin Board Ideas
Construction Site
A bulletin board designed like a construction site is a great idea for a back to school display. Ahead of time, the
teacher can decorate the board to look like a construction site. A yellow background and work tool/clothing
drawings can be sprinkled about the display. Students can then construct a sample of their handwriting, drawing,
or even a math work and post these on the bulletin board.
As the year progresses, children can replace their old work with the new or a before-and-after display can be
created highlighting the students' progress.
A back to school bulletin board project is a great way to start off the new school year. Help students create and
display their pictures and ideas, and enjoy observing the blossoming friendships as kids learn about each other
and become more comfortable with their new classroom setting.
Remember This? Bulletin Board
Cover the bulletin board with a background that will work all year because you won't be changing this one. Put
up the title and you are ready for the first day. Take pictures of class activities during the year and post them
on the bulletin board. Add some funny captions. At the end of the year, let the students take home their favorite
pictures.
Question of the Week Bulletin Board
Cover a bulletin board with butcher paper. At the top, write a thought provoking question. Let the students write
their thoughts on the paper in their free time. Some possible questions include the following:
What would you do with a million dollars?
What is your favorite book or author?
What is the perfect pet?
How could we improve our school?
Who has the best job?
What makes a good friend?
What makes our town great?
What will you be doing in 25 years?
What do you already know about (upcoming lesson topic)?
What do you want to know about (upcoming lesson topic)?
Riddle and Joke Bulletin Board
